President visits Rasmale' site to see progress

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu visited Rasmale' yesterday to observe the progress of the land reclamation work being carried out there. 

Rasmale' is the main initiative undertaken by this administration to resolve housing issues. 

President Muizzu visited Rasmale' today after having first gone to K. Gulhi. 

RASMALE' PROJECT

The project, being undertaken under multiple phases, is progressing rapidly, the President's Office said. 

"Site J is now fully completed, while 25.53 percent of Site L and 20.09 percent of Site C have been completed," a statement on the President's Office website reports progress. 

Housing Development Corporation has announced that as of now, 182.85 hectares have been reclaimed at Rasmale'. 

RASMALE' PROJECT

Speaking at yesterday's Republic Day ceremony, the President announced that reclamation of Rasmale' will be completed within approximately 5 months, and 15,000 land plots will be issued from there. 

The Rasmale' project commenced in K. Fushidhiggarufalhu in December 2023. At the start of the project, the government announced that 1,153 hectares of land would be reclaimed for the eco-city, Rasmale'.
