President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has described civil service employees as the “army” that runs the country, emphasizing that their hard work is crucial in delivering public services and implementing government policies.
Speaking at the 57th Republic Day celebrations at the Social Center, the President noted that the salaries of all civil servants, council administrative employees, and more than 20,000 judiciary staff have been increased since November 1.

He assured employees that any concerns or perceived issues related to the recent salary changes will be addressed by the Pay Commission in the coming days. President Muizzu added that the changes aim to increase the basic salary of all civil service employees, and remaining adjustments will be included in next year’s budget.
