The government has awarded the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) the contract to build children’s parks in 32 islands across Maldives.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Local Government. HDC Managing Director Ali Zuhair signed on behalf of the corporation, while Finance Executive Mohamed Saraah signed on behalf of the ministry.
Under the project, HDC will develop children’s parks in 12 atolls:
Haa Alifu, Haa
- Haa Alifu Atoll
- Dhaalu Atoll
- Shaviyani Atoll
- Noonu Atoll
- Raa Atoll
- Baa Atoll
- Vaavu Atoll
- Dhaalu Atoll
- Thaa Atoll
- Laamu Atoll
- Gaafu Alifu Atoll
- Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll
According to HDC, the project is valued at MVR 28 million and will involve the supply and installation of all necessary park equipment.
The corporation said the initiative aligns with its commitment to support national development projects and to build healthier communities across the country.
