President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officially inaugurated the newly constructed headquarters of the Maldives Correctional Service (MCS).
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Hulhumale' Prison compound yesterday, where the President was received by the Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan and Commissioner of Prisons Hussain Zareer.
President Muizzu was accorded an honour guard on arrival.
The ceremony included the hoisting of the national flag and the MCS flag, followed by the official unveiling of the name plaque, marking the formal opening of the new facility.
The newly built headquarters is the first MCS building constructed on its own dedicated plot of land. The two-storey, 12,000 square foot facility was completed in 16 months and will house 15 departments and divisions, accommodating a workforce of 175 employees.
During his visit, President Muizzu signed the visitors’ book and toured the premise.
