130 recipients to receive Awards at Republic Day ceremony

The President's Office has announced today that 130 individuals will receive National Awards during the Republic Day ceremony scheduled to be held tomorrow. 

The official Republic Day ceremony will be held at 8:30am tomorrow at the Social Centre. 

The National Award for Public Service will be conferred to 97 recipients in recognition of their service to the State over 35 to 39 years. 

The President's Award for Special Achievement will be presented to 33 recipients in recognition of exceptional accomplishments in their respective fields. 

The President's Office further stated that recipients of the awards are selected by the Committee on National Awards.

On Independence Day this year, 94 individuals were awarded the National Award for Public Service in recognition of over 40 years of public service.
