All services available from Maldives Immigration have been digitalized, with the Electronic Visa (E-Visa) and Maldives Immigration Online App (MIAPP) being introduced today.
The ceremony was held at Barceló Nasandhura, with the Maldivian E-Visa service being inaugurated by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
During the ceremony, Controller General of Immigration Ahmed Faseeh stated that citizens and Immigration will see major progress with the services introduced today.
Faseeh also stated that the services introduced today will ease the issue of expatriates living in Maldives illegally.
He went on to say that the newly introduced E-Visa will provide a permanent solution to the difficulties faced in stamping visas onto expatriate passports.
"I give my assurance that the visa service will see expansion in Maldives, and will be up to international standards and of the same quality as developed countries," said Faseeh.

Immigration's services were digitalized under the government's ongoing "Maldives 2.0" policy. During the ceremony today, Homeland Minister Ali Ihusan stated that the first institution to be 100 percent digitalized as per President Muizzu's policies is Maldives Immigration. He noted that Maldives Immigration acknowledged the President's policy, and their efforts show the importance they place upon its enforcement.
Along with the E-Visa, an application that will ease affairs related to expatriates in Maldives was also introduced today.
"MI ID Checker, the application that is being introduced today, will see Immigration employees, the Police, law enforcement agencies, Labor Relations Authority, Health Protection Agency and other related institutes gain access to the application," said Ihusan.
He stated that the island councils will also benefit from this application, as it will allow them to check details on expatriates living on the islands.
The minister also said that this will solve the difficulties faced by medical service providers in identifying expatriates in a medical emergency or in cases of death.
