The National Integrity Commission (NIC) has met with Police today, where discussions were held on measures that can be taken to ensure cooperation from Police and other relevant institutions in obtaining necessary information for their investigations.
This is the NIC's first meeting with Police Commissioner Ismail Naveen and other senior Police officials after the new members of the committee were appointed.
Police stated that the meeting focused on potential areas of collaboration with NIC to safeguard public rights.
The discussions also addressed information-sharing between investigators from both agencies, along with training and familiarization with each other's investigative methods and frameworks.
In addition to Commissioner of Police Naveen, Deputy Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikry, Professional Standards Command Head Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed, Deputy Head Chief Superintendent of Police Abdulla Shatheeh also participated in today's meeting held at the Police Commissioner's Office.
From the commission, newly appointed NIC President Shuaib Abdul Rahman and other members attended the meeting.
