The Tourism Ministry and MACL have signed an agreement for the company to develop a tourist hotel and an eco-tourism project in Fuvahmulah.
The agreement was signed last night during President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's current visit to Fuvahmulah, at the island's school.
Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed signed the agreement on behalf of MACL, with State Minister Nashath Rasheed signing on behalf of the ministry.

Agreements regarding other Fuvahmulah projects were also signed:
- Project to establish 16 classrooms and a lab in Fuvahmulah School, with the project being awarded to MTCC.
- Project to develop a third space for the youth, with the project being awarded to Center Land Pvt. Ltd.
- Project to establish a sports complex, awarded to MACL.
- Building an Islamic Center, awarded to Afaamee Maldives Private Limited.
- Constructing an office complex building, awarded to MTCC.
- Developing a new harbor in Fuvahmulah, awarded to MTCC.
- Third stage of road repair and development, awarded to MTCC.
- Project to build an additional 75 housing units, awarded to Glut Investments Pvt. Ltd.
- Development of a skate park, awarded to MTCC.
The practical work in building 400 housing units in Fuvahmulah also started yesterday, with various projects and services being inaugurated during President Muizzu's visit to the island.
President Muizzu also met with the Fuvahmulah City Council, Women's Development Committee members last night.
The President will be visiting Addu today as his two-day visit to the two cities comes to an end. President Muizzu's first stops will be Addu Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo, with him visiting the other connected islands of Addu as well.
