Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) and the Ministry of Youth have renewed their
agreement to empower youth and provide them with work experience and training
for an additional three years.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday at a ceremony held at the MPL headquarters.
State Minister Ali Shamaan signed on behalf of the Ministry of Youth, and Chief
Learning and Development Officer Aishath Shimla signed on behalf of MPL.
MPL stated that the primary objective of this agreement is to enhance
opportunities for youth to gain work training and experience, complementing
their national-level education.
Under the renewed agreement, MPL will continue to run the National
Apprenticeship Program in selected fields.

This involves the Ministry of Youth promoting the apprenticeship program
among young people, empowering youth, and monitoring the progress and quality
of these training programs. Furthermore, individuals who successfully complete
the program will be awarded a National Certificate Level 3.
MPL has already successfully completed 11 batches of the National
Apprenticeship Program in collaboration with the Youth Ministry. MPL stated
that renewing this agreement is a valuable opportunity to provide youth with
essential work experience and open up numerous career opportunities.
