The Saudi government has officially launched "Nusuk Umrah," a
service that allows individuals wanting to perform the Umrah pilgrimage to
easily obtain all necessary permits on their own, without needing additional
travel agents.
In a social media post today, the Saudi Embassy in the Maldives stated that
through this service, individuals who want to perform Umrah can apply via the
Nusuk electronic platform and receive their permits without having to go
through an intermediary agent.
The dedicated website for the service explains that "Nusuk Umrah is a
platform supervised by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, managing everything from
visa issuance to package arrangements."
Although it was previously possible to travel for Umrah without a group,
certain aspects like arranging the visa and accommodation still required going
through an authorized agent.
However, the "Nusuk Umrah" service allows individuals to arrange
all these aspects independently.
The packages offered under Nusuk Umrah include high-standard hotel
accommodation near the Holy Mosque and fully arranged pilgrimage
services. These packages also include options for various durations and
arrangements for visiting different sites in Mecca and Madina.
Arranging for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to easily manage their journeys and
issuing permits via electronic means is part of Saudi Arabia's "Vision
2030" goals.
Last month, Saudi Arabia also began allowing anyone who enters the country
on a valid visa to perform Umrah. Even if a traveler enters Saudi Arabia on a
visa other than an Umrah visa, they can instantly obtain an Umrah permit by
selecting the required package through the Nusuk Umrah platform.
