A foreigner has died in the landing craft capsizing incident outside the MPL harbor.

On the night of 15th October, a landing craft that had come from within Kaafu Atoll had also capsized and claimed the lives of three people. One of them was a Maldivian. The landing craft had taken off from Maldives to One&Only Reethi Rah Resort Maldives, subsequently capsizing.

A foreigner had sustained the worst injuries of the six, with Police stating that he is in a critical state.

Police stated there were 14 people from the landing craft, with all of them having been found.
Six people have been injured in an incident where a landing craft capsized right outside the MPL harbor.
A Police Media Official stated that MPL had reported the incident around 3:55pm.
Three people who had sustained injuries were rushed to IGMH. However, an additional three injured individuals were taken to the hospital and are now being treated. Of the six, four are Maldivian and two are foreigners.
The hospital stated that as they are currently being treated, it is unclear as to the extent of their injuries.
As per the MNDF, there was a person in the landing craft when it capsized. They also said that the person was rescued by Coast Guard divers.
The Police have said that their investigation into the matter is ongoing.
