Former President Abdulla Yameen has been elected President of People's National Front (PNF). Former Vice President Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed and Yameen's son Zein Abdulla Yameen were elected Vice Presidents.
All three positions were uncontested, and so the automatic appointment of the President and Vice Presidents were announced at PNF's first congress meeting held at Artificial Beach last night to officially form the party.
The post of Secretary General was also granted to former Minister Mohamed Maleeh Jamal, as no others contested for the post.
Ahmed Musthafa Mohamed was elected as Treasurer, and Ali Shiyan Nashid was elected as Registrar.

Further, 14 members were elected to the party's senate. These members are:
- Adam Asif
- Ahmed Fayaz Ali (Papa)
- Abdulla Samad
- Shareefa Saeed
- Haleemath Zuhaira
- Ali Shah
- Naif Shaukath
- Fathimath Rahma
- Mohamed Abdul Latheef
- Adhly Ismail
- Abdulla Saheel Jaleel
- Mohamed Maizar Ahmed Zahir
- Dr Abdulla Ibrahim

Over 40 candidates applied for senate membership.
The PNF was established by Yameen as a breakaway party following internal disputes within his former parties, the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and People's National Congress (PNC), after both endorsed President Dr Mohamed Muizzu as their candidate in the last presidential election, which he won.
After Yameen left PPM, a significant number of party members shifted to PNC, and PPM was later dissolved.
