Manadhoo PNC MP Husnee Mubarik has been appointed to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) today.

Mubarik underwent an oath taking ceremony and signed the affidavit at a ceremony held at the President's Office. Supreme Court Judge Ali Rasheed Hussain administered Mubarik's oath.

Mubarik was the Chairman of the Parliament's Judiciary Committee, with him replacing Maafushi MP Hussain Riza after he had resigned from the JSC.

Mubarik resigned from his position as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee as he was appointed to the JSC.

When Riza resigned from the JSC, Vice President of the JSC and High Court Judge Mohamed Niyaz had also resigned from his post. Presidential appointee Yazmeed Mohamed had been appointed Vice President of the JSC last Thursday.
