President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has completed visits to all inhabited islands
of the Maldives within one year and eleven months of taking the oath of office.
The only other President to have visited every island in such a short period
was Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, who achieved this between 1978 and 1983, 42 years
ago.
President Muizzu fulfilled his pledge to visit all inhabited islands at
least twice during his presidential term with his visit to Thulusdhoo this
afternoon, as part of his ongoing trip to Lh. and K. Atolls.

The President's Office announced today that with the visit to Thulusdhoo,
President Muizzu has officially visited all 187 inhabited islands and all
cities of the Maldives in his official capacity.
The office added that the President visited every island within the first
one year and eleven months of his administration, and has made a second visit
to 63 of these islands during this period.

The President's Office also noted that on his trips, President Muizzu met
with the residents of every island, as well as the leaders of the councils and
the Women's Development Committees (WDC). Furthermore, he initiated development
projects on every island and inaugurated completed projects in some.
The President's Office described the achievement of visiting all islands in
such a short period, initiating development projects, and meeting with the
residents of every island as a historically significant milestone for a
Maldivian head of state.
