Maldives Immigration has decided to recruit 70 Immigration Officer Trainees
and is preparing to hold a walk-in interview.
Immigration announced that this round of walk-in interviews will be held on
the 1st of November. The interview will take place at Salahuddin
School in Hulhumalé, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on that day.
Job Requirements:
- Must have at least two D passes in a GCE O' Level or equivalent examination, along with a minimum C pass in the Dhivehi language subject at A' Level, or have achieved an MQF Level 3 Certificate.
- Must be under the age of 40 years.
Job Scope:
- Performing border control duties at the airport.
- Providing passport and travel document services.
- Working in the Seaport Section.
- Working in the Visa Section.
- Participating in special tasks undertaken due to specific situations faced by the office, and performing other duties assigned within the scope of the office's work.
Salary and Allowances:
- Basic Salary: MVR 6,500 per month.
- Service Allowance: MVR 1,500 per month.
- Upon successful completion of the six-month training period, an additional 35 percent of the basic salary will be given as a Special Service Allowance.
This is the second such walk-in interview held by Immigration. The previous
walk-in interview, held in May, also received a large response.
While the previous walk-in interview was announced to recruit a total of 50
employees, over 900 people attended, and 758 people were found eligible. Out of
549 people who took the exam, 70 people were recruited in addition to the
initial 50.
