Serving public needs is a privilege: President

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated today that it is his pleasure and a privilege to listen to the wishes of the people and to fulfill their needs. 

The President made these remarks while addressing residents of L. Maabaidhoo, this afternoon's stop in his ongoing visit to Laamu atoll. 

He asserted that he visits the people across the country for this purpose alone, to listen to their needs and concerns and fulfill their needs. 

The President assured residents of Maabaidhoo that he would fulfil all the pledges he has made to them. 

During the event, agreements were signed for a shore protection project in Maabaidhoo, as well as the construction of a multi-purpose hall in L. Atoll Madrasa on the island, and the construction of a football stadium. 

The President further announced that construction of a volleyball court in Maabaidhoo, as well as expanding the island's health centre to provide round the clock service will be included in next year's State budget. This, he announced, would see all pledges made to the island fulfilled.
