Met Office has warned that bad weather is expected to continue across the Maldives for the next three days, with rainfall unlikely to ease until Monday.

The advisory predicts strong winds, rough seas, scattered rain, and thundershowers, with the possibility of wave surges during high tides.

Authorities have urged the public, particularly seafarers and travelers, to take precautions.

The Southwest monsoon, which began last Friday, is intensifying, bringing gusty winds and rough seas.

As the Nakaiy shifts on Saturday, winds are expected to change direction, bringing with it rough seas.

The Southwest monsoon typically lasts from May to November, while the Northeast monsoon occurs from January to March, with April and December marking shifts between both monsoons.
