Over 700 unused vehicles identified on Hulhumale’ roads

Police have identified 716 vehicles that have been left unused for long periods on the streets of Hulhumale’, authorities said.

The Hulhumale’ Police conducted a special operation on Tuesday to gather information on damaged and abandoned vehicles across Hulhumale'.

The vehicles include cars, motorcycles, pickups, and vans. The information has now been shared with relevant authorities, police said.

Police said they are working with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Transport Ministry, and other agencies to ensure roads remain safe and clear.

Illegally parked and abandoned vehicles are occasionally towed and removed; last August, over 200 old vehicles were taken off the streets of Male’.
