President pledges to fulfill all promises for Narudhoo

During his current tour of Shaviyani atoll, the President said the government aims to create opportunities for residents and implement projects according to their needs.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to deliver on all promises made to Shaviyani atoll Narudhoo during his presidential election campaign.

During his current tour of Shaviyani atoll, the President said the government aims to create opportunities for residents and implement projects according to their needs.

On Wednesday, three new projects were launched and two others signed. President Muizzu also confirmed that the construction of a four-storey school building will be completed and handed over this month.

He added that an announcement has been made to recruit contractors to build a high-quality football stadium, with construction set to begin later this year.

Addressing the island’s major infrastructure challenges, the President said the sewerage system and harbour works will be handed over to Fenaka Corporation next month, with expedited completion planned.

President Muizzu also outlined plans for next year, including:

  • Expansion of the harbour
  • Beach protection works
  • Grant of land for housing
  • Repair of the football field
  • Construction of a handball court
  • Extending health centre operating hours to 16 hours
