Additional 50 housing units to be built in Milandhoo

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has been awarded the contract to construct 50 additional housing units in Sh. Milandhoo.

The agreement was signed during a ceremony held to meet the residents of Milandhoo, as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing visit to Shaviyani Atoll.

Signing the agreement on behalf of Housing Development Corporation (HDC) was its Managing Director, Ali Zuhair. State Minister Hassan Rasheed signed on behalf of the Ministry of Housing.

While preparations are underway to begin the construction of these new 50 housing units on the island, the work on another 50 units, which was commenced by the previous administration in 2022, is also ongoing.

Finding housing solutions for islands outside the Malé region is a key presidential pledge by President Muizzu.

In addition, the agreement for the second phase of the island's road development project was signed. This work was contracted to Road Development Corporation (RDC). Furthermore, an agreement for the second phase of the island’s coastal protection project was signed with Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
