Parliament has passed four people to be appointed for the National Integrity Commission (NIC) due to NIC President Gasim Abdul Kareem and three other members seeing their terms coming to an end.
The appointees are:
- Fathimath Shareef, GDh. Thinadhoo, Maakoalhi
- Shifaz Ali, Registration No: 1854
- Shuaib Abdul Rahman, Registration No: 1188
- Ali Mohamed Manik, Registration No: 1851
Appointee Shuaib is a current member of the NIC.
NIC has a commission of five members. The commission has the power to look into cases regarding institutions such as the police, Customs, etc.
