The Criminal Court has sentenced an individual to one month in prison for touching a child without their consent.

As there is a child involved, the Criminal Court has decided to not disclose their case report to the public.

The court stated as per Article 120 of the Penal Code, the crime of touching without consent was proven against an individual by the name of Aishath Rausha. As punishment, the individual has been sentenced to one month and six days in jail.

As per the Penal Code, touching someone without their consent, harming someone or threatening harm to someone is a crime.

The individual in this case was charged with “putting their hands on someone or causing harm to another person.”

Under the law, this offense carries a base sentence of one month and six days, which was applied in this instance. Authorities confirmed that the individual’s actions did not involve physically harming the child.
