Police deny releasing video of crime scene involving minors

The police stated today that the video showing officers operating at a crime scene where minors were present was not recorded and released by the police.

The video is from an operation conducted recently during the arrest of several individuals suspected of exploiting minors. A video showing police entering and operating at the location where the suspects were present has since been circulated on social media. The video shows some of the arrested individuals along with two minors. Additionally, the voices of some individuals speaking can be heard in the video.

As the video began circulating on social media, the police issued a statement saying that the video was not recorded by a police officer who was active at the scene. However, the police did not reveal who recorded the video.

"We inform you that the video showing police operating in a crime scene was not recorded by a police officer who was active in that crime scene," the police said in a message sent to the media.

When police are operating at a crime scene, no one is permitted to enter the area without authorization from the police.

The individuals arrested at the time in connection with the case were presenter Nafiu Rasheed, who previously worked at state media PSM and VTV and has hosted various sports events; Ali Ashraf of M. Ethumaa; Ibrahim Shinaan Ahmed of H. Finikuri; and Luhaan Saeed of Gdh. Vaadhoo.

The police had previously stated that the minors involved in the case included two 17-year-old girls, a 16-year-old boy, and a 17-year-old boy.
