The Duck Park, built two years ago by residents of Hulhudhoo in collaboration with Addu City Council, has recently seen the deaths of ducks and several other bird species, as well as fish in its ponds.

Hulhudhoo councillor Hussain Faiz Rahman told Mihaaru News that the deaths began a few days ago. While the exact cause remains unclear, locals believe the water may have been deliberately contaminated.

Recently, Meedhoo Mathikilhi Eco Garden saw fires which destroyed around 80 percent of the mangroves on 4th and 5th October.
