The annual conference for principals from across the country has commenced today.
This year's conference sees participation from 210 schools across the atolls. The conference, being held at Crossroads Maldives, was inaugurated by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu said that previously, the conference was held without input from teachers.
In contrast, this year's conference marks a shift towards inclusivity, with teachers actively consulted, the minister said. Policy documents were distributed, followed by deliberations among principals and teachers, whose recommendations will be formally presented at the conference, according to the minister.

"The challenges teachers face, whether in classrooms or at a community level, or even at curriculum implementation level or directly in teaching in classrooms, all of this was discussed and their recommendations will be shared as this conference proceeds," he said.
The aim in doing so, the minister said, is to bring a revolutionary change to the education sector.
