Housing Ministry has announced the final opportunity for recipients to sign agreements for 100 newly built flats in Thaa atoll Thimarafushi.
According to the ministry, while most recipients have completed the process, some have yet to sign their agreements. Those who have not yet done so can do so from Sunday to Thursday, between 9:00 am and 1:30 pm. The ministry will contact the recipients of the flats to schedule appointments.
“This is the last opportunity to sign the agreement,” the announcement said.
The 100 flats each feature three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. Of these, 83 have been reserved for the island's residents, with the remaining units allocated to people from other islands seeking to migrate to Thimarafushi.
The government contracted SJ Construction to build the flats. The project began in 2020 and was completed at a cost of over MVR 83 million.
