The youth of ADh. Mandhoo have invited President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to play a game of futsal once the island's futsal pitch which is currently under-development is completed.
Residents of Mandhoo were given the opportunity to pose questions to President Muizzu and ministers upon their arrival to the island.
Mandhoo youth requested the President for the completion of the pitch ahead of the island's futsal tournament this November.
"Today marks the beginning of everything that we've wanted for the island. Something that we, the youth of Mandhoo, want to request from you President Muizzu, is for you to play a futsal match with us once the pitch is finished," a youth requested.
The youth requested that the President join them for a match even for a short while when the pitch is open for use.
While answering the request, President Muizzu said that he will play a match with them on the day the pitch opens if time permits.
"It [playing futsal] is something that really interests me. If time permits, I will make the time to come and play. I look forward to it," said the President.
President Muizzu stated that he will work to ensure the pitch is complete as soon as possible.
According to Mandhoo Council, this is the first time a President has come to the island and conversed with its residents. The council gave their assurance that they will provide all means of support to the government in the development of the island and its residents.
