President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that this administration is working to facilitate provision of all services in all inhabited islands of Maldives because residents do not wish to remain dependent on atoll capitals and capital Male' City.
Speaking to residents of ADh. Maamigili, the President told them that the opposition is criticizing the establishment of ATMs on islands. However, residents on islands will realize the difficult journey that led to the ATMs.
The President affirmed that this administration would provide basic services in all islands, undeterred by criticism or ridicule.
"What we want is to provide basic services in a manner that will bring maximum convenience to the people. I do not believe people should be forced to rely on Male' or other islands, having to travel there every time for basic needs," the President said.
The President described the introduction of services such as ATMs, ID card and passport issuance, and infrastructure development as long term investments.
