More projects have begun at ADh. Maamigili along with an Islamic University Maldives (IUM) campus and a hospital.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced and inaugurated the projects yesterday in Maamigili as part of his visit to the ADh. Atoll.
The IUM campus signing took place at the Maamigili meeting.
The IUM campus will have an administrative office, a library, five classrooms, a multipurpose seminar hall and an employee accommodation block. The project was handed over to the Road Development Corporation (RDC).
Vice Chancellor Dr. Ali Zahir signed the agreement on behalf of IUM, with Managing Director Ibrahim Nazeem signing on behalf of RDC.

The foundation was laid for Maamigili's 30-bed hospital this morning. An MNDF Fire Station has also been opened on the island, along with the BML Maamigili Branch's ATM services this morning as well.
Projects that would be done for Maamigili from the administration as per President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu:
- Paving of Maamigili's roads with tarmac, something that has remained undone for a while and has become a nuisance to its residents.
- WAMCO being responsible for Maamigili's waste management.
- Establishment of a Public Works Unit.
- Establishment of a sports complex (using Male's Social Center as an example).
- Ensuring passport and ID card services are available by the end of the month.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu expressed his thoughts during the Maamigili meeting with its residents, stating that arrangements will be made for all services to be available on the island.
The President stated that ATM's are being established in all islands in line with that thinking.
"We want to establish basic needs for the civilians to make their lives easier. I do not believe that people should be enslaved by and have to face the difficulty of always having to go to Male' or a faraway island in the atoll," said President Muizzu.
As per the President, a system is being established to have every island's health center directly communicate with the Health Ministry and Finance Ministry in order to minimize the reliance on Male' and an atoll's main island.
