Today, the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has stated that while they have been handing over the 4,000 flats under the Gedhoruveriya scheme, more than 1,200 people have paid the security deposit.
The opportunity to pay the security deposit for the Hulhumale' flats was opened on 7th September.
As per the information that was shared by FDC to Mihaaru News, they had informed 1,731 individuals to pay the advance deposit until last Thursday. FDC stated that out of the 1,731 individuals, 1,273 had paid.
FDC is following a certain order in telling people to pay the security deposit after the flat agreement is signed. FDC has also said that 3,140 people have signed the agreement.
The housing project was handed over to two Indian companies, with the two-room apartments being given for MVR 7,000, along with a MVR 1,000 monthly maintenance fee and a security deposit of MVR 15,000.
Three-room apartments are set to be given for MVR 9,500, with a maintenance fee of MVR 1,500 and a security deposit of MVR 25,000.
Of the people who were eligible for the flats, those who began receiving the flats were from Amaan Udhares' Tower 14. Flats are being handed over on a zone-basis, with the scheduling for handing over the keys being done via FDC's portal.
FDC has said that they are working to finish flat handovers by the end of November.
