President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has said that his government will give special attention to improving the development and working conditions of teachers across the country.

In a post on X marking Teachers’ Day, President Muizzu said “I assure you that the government will pay special attention to the progress and facilities of all teachers working in the education sector.”

He described the dedication and commitment of teachers as “an honourable and proud service that cannot be measured by anything material”.

The President said today’s students were strong and courageous children who will make the nation proud tomorrow, adding that teachers played a vital role in shaping a new generation through their guidance, education and compassion.

“Teachers have the greatest role and power to bring a brighter future to the Maldives,” President Muizzu said.

Schools across the country are holding various activities to celebrate this year’s Teachers’ Day.
