President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated today that the new skating arena will offer many opportunities for young skaters to grow and succeed in the sport.
The foundation stone for the arena was laid yesterday. The facility will include a speed skating track and a skateboarding park. It is being built under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of the Road Development Corporation (RDC).
In a post on social media, President Muizzu said that the permanent skating arena is a major project that will bring both sporting and social benefits. He noted that it will support youth development and help improve public health.
The President said this arena will provide many opportunities for young people to advance in the world-class sport of skating.
The speed skating track is designed for rollerskates speed skating, while the skateboarding park will feature ramps and platforms for skateboarders to practice and perform.
