The court has extended remand in custody of Ahmed Aashid by 30 days.
Aashid, 27, was arrested in relation to AbduRahman's murder. He was 65 years old.
In addition to Aashid, Police arrested Mohamed Visham, 22, and Ahmed Faris, 27 in relation to the case. All three hail from AA. Maalhos, where the murder was committed.
The three individuals were arrested on 21st August, with Visham and Faris being placed in remand in custody until the end of trial. While the court initially placed Aashid in remand in custody for five days, they extended it by 30 days.

As the remand in custody duration saw an end on 25th August, it was extended by 30 days, Police said.
The three individuals who were arrested are known to be close friends on the island of Maalhos.
No details other than the arrested individuals have been released to the public.

It has been learned that of the three, Faris called a son of AbduRahman before news of the attack was known, claiming crowds had gathered outside AbduRahman's residence and asking what it was about.
Faris is not known to call AbduRahman's son usually. Seeing a missed call from Faris, the son had called back later, at which point Faris explained he had called to enquire what was going on at AbduRahman's residence as people had gathered there.
All three of AbduRahman's sons had been in Male' at the time.
Nazima Ibrahim, AbduRahman's wife, had been the first to discover him with his injuries, when she had gone into his room to use the attached bathroom at around 1:00am that night, as what was told to Mihaaru News.
AbduRahman had been taken to the AA. Maalhos Health Centre, but died just a few hours later.
It is not known why AbduRahman was attacked. However, some people believe and accuse black magic as the cause of the attack.
