President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has strongly condemned Israel’s interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla, a convoy of unarmed civilian vessels carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, in international waters.

In a post on X, President Muizzu described the move as “unacceptable intimidation” and a “grave affront to humanity,” saying it represented a clear breach of international law.

He said Israel’s repeated disregard for human dignity, showing “neither mercy nor compassion,” had only deepened its isolation from the global community.

Calling for urgent accountability, Dr Muizzu urged the international community to take decisive action against Israel’s “gross and repeated violations of international law.”

He reaffirmed Maldives’ unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for human rights, justice, peace and security.
