President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the Maldivian economy is growing at a good pace and that the administration will begin a project to build an additional 3,000 housing units in Male'.

After a hiatus, administrative party PNC conducted a rally last night, where President Muizzu announced that an additional 3,000 housing units will be built outside the current 4,000 housing unit project. The 4,000 housing units will be built with funding under India's line of credit.

"Thankfully, everything [regarding building of the 3,000 housing units] is going well. One of my most important pledges to the people is housing. The plots and flats that have been given to you as part of my pledge are still ongoing, and we will continue to do so without any changes," said President Muizzu during the rally to a crowd of supporters.

While speaking at PNC's main camp, President Muizzu said that all his pledges are being brought to fruition with the help of the administration and PNC supporters. He gestured to the fact that plenty of projects have begun in various parts of the country.

"Some of our people have been living in a difficult state where they haven't been cared for for quite a long time. But we are an administration that will not discriminate between our citizens," said the President.

"Every civilian is important to me and the administration. From the smallest family, to a person on the island with the smallest population and everyone in between, everyone is equal."

As per the President, everything that is being done now is to bring up an economy that is "broken and buried". He also gave his assurance that despite that, the Maldivian economy is moving at a steady pace and that there is nothing to worry about.

"We are paying the debts that we owe. During yesterday's Chinese National Day celebration, the Chinese administration announced that the debt [that Maldives owes to the Chinese administration] relief agreements have been signed and sorted," said President Muizzu while recalling the Chinese Ambassador's speech at the ceremony.

President Muizzu went on to say that the debts that are owed will be paid without issue. The President also stated that it is being done with a thorough plan.

"We absolutely do not want to put our people in a tough situation. We will continue to fulfill our pledges to civilians while repaying our international and local debts. We will venture to do so without printing any money," said the President.

"I remember all of my vows."

During the rally, President Muizzu stated that he still remembers the vows he made to the Maldivian people during the Presidential campaign. As he has told repeatedly, the President said that he will continue to uphold his vows for civilians with sincerity.

President Muizzu also stated that the administration is starting and completing various works almost daily. He stated that this will be even more evident in the days to come.

President Muizzu said that he believes in meaningful, transparent and long term development.

The President also said that Maldives has no spirit of revenge or injustice and that the administration will do their jobs with fairness and justice.

"This administration runs in a lawful manner and within the confines of the law for the good of the people. Our hope is that the administration guarantees a nation of peace, development and security," said the President.
