Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has announced that State internal auditors will soon see a positive adjustment to their salaries.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Internal Audit Conference 2025 held by the Finance Ministry, Vice President Latheef said that internal auditors play a key role in ensuring public trust in State institutions and in strengthening administrative operations. He also recognized the unique challenges faced by internal auditors in carrying out their duties.

"This administration recognizes that, and is working to resolve those issues as a matter of priority. As such, a special framework has now been set for internal auditors. I also share with you the happy news that in the near future, a positive adjustment will be made to the salaries of internal auditors," VP Latheef stated.

State Internal Audit Committee Chairperson Aminath Reema Rasheed also highlighted that there are many challenges faced by the committee. One of these, she said, is the difficulty in recruiting staff with the required technical skills.

Further, there is a significant delay in appointing a Chief Internal Auditor, she pointed out.

The Finance Ministry's Risk Management Framework was inaugurated by VP Latheef at today's ceremony.

Finance Minister Moosa Zameer, alongside several other senior government officials, also attended the ceremony.
