Last night's blaze at Lily F&B Supply Bazaar 1 store has caused the company losses coming up to MVR 30 million, Lily International said today.
The fire left the two storey building and goods in it damaged beyond use.
Lily International Managing Director Amir Mansoor said that the building burned to the roof, adding that the entire structure would need to be demolished. Mansoor said that the value of goods inside the building at the time of the incident come up to approximately MVR 10 million.
"When we consider the building and the goods in it, we are looking at about MVR 30 million. The goods inside alone would have a value of MVR 10 million," he said.

Mansoor said that the top floor of the building was used to store dry goods. The lower floor had a cold storage for frozen goods.
Mansoor said that the goods stored there were for wholesale to the market.
Lily International imports a large range of goods to the Maldives for wholesale and retail.
MNDF said that they received reports of the fire incident at 1am last night.
It took firefighters over an hour to put out the fire, with the fire finally extinguished after 2:30am.
One of the responding firefighters had to be rushed to Senahiya Hospital, but no other persons were reported to be injured in the incident.
MNDF said that a large amount of goods stored in the premises had been burned beyond use, as well as the roof of the building having collapsed.
The cause of the fire is not clear as of yet.
