Multiple development projects, including land reclamation, has been commenced in Th. Gaadhiffushi. 

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu visited Gaadhiffushi yesterday, where a meeting was held with residents, offering them the opportunity to ask questions and share concerns. 

During the meeting, an agreement was signed for land reclamation on the island. The agreement was signed by MTCC CEO Ahmed Saudhulla and State Minister for Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Hassan Rasheed. 

In his address, the President recognized the urgent need for land reclamation on the island. The island, which has a population of about 300, needs land reclamation to address housing difficulties and to promote economic opportunities, the President said. 

MTCC CEO Saudhulla announced that necessary permits for land reclamation would be obtained, and practical work commenced within 65 days. The land reclamation itself would be completed within 580 days, he said. 

Projects commenced and completed in Gaadhiffushi yesterday include:

- Laying the foundation for the new building annexing the Gaadhiffushi Health Centre

- Work on upgrading the harbour

- Introduction of ATM services

- Laying the foundation for a fitness centre
