Man who fell overboard from Indian ship near Vilimale’ found dead

The man who fell into the sea from an Indian vessel anchored near Vilimale’ has been found dead, authorities have confirmed.

The incident was reported at 11:35 p.m. on the 22nd of this month, from the Indian ship MSV Doula, stating that one of the crew members was missing and believed to have fallen overboard.

According to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), the man's body was recovered today in the southern waters of K. Feydhoofinolhu by the MNDF Coast Guard Second Squadron under Male’ Area Command.

The body has since been handed over to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.

The search operation was conducted by both sea and air, and the body was discovered during ongoing efforts in the area.
