RTL ferry service launched in Thaa atoll

The high-speed Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service has been launched in Thaa atoll, connecting all 13 inhabited islands.

The service was inaugurated on today during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to Veymandoo as part of his Thaa Atoll tour.

With the addition of Thaa Atoll, RTL now operates in 11 atolls. Tickets can be purchased via the RTL website and mobile app.

 State owned Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is implementing the project under a government contract. The nationwide ferry network is being rolled out in three phases across six zones at a cost of MVR 800 million.

The project began in 2022 and aims to provide affordable, reliable transport links between islands.
