Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the Maldives, Yahya Hassan Al Gahtani, has praised the strong ties between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia on the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s 95th National Day yesterday.
In a statement issued to mark the celebrations, the Ambassador expressed his commitment to fostering prosperity, stability, and development for the people of both countries through bilateral relations. He emphasized that both nations are working to elevate their partnership to new heights.
“The strong bilateral relationship between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives is an example of the constructive cooperation between the two countries,” the Ambassador said.
He also highlighted that under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, the country is “building bridges of cooperation” with international partners across various sectors. This demonstrates the Maldives’ desire to deepen ties with Saudi Arabia, a nation recognized regionally and globally.
“The relationship between Saudi Arabia and the Maldives goes beyond government-to-government cooperation. We are also working to revive ties between the people of both countries,” he added.
The Ambassador noted that relations between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia have been further strengthened under the leadership of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Saudi Arabia’s National Day, celebrated on September 23rd, marks the day in 1932 when the country’s name officially changed from the “Kingdom of Najd and Hejaz” to Saudi Arabia by decree of the nation’s first king, Abdul Aziz bin Saud.
