"Once this has been achieved, we have to move forward at the forefront while being connected to globalization and the realities of world development. This is why the Maldives 2.0 digitalization project is taking place across the country," said President Muizzu.

As per the President, one of the reasons for digitalization is to ensure transparency in providing services to civilians. The President highlighted that digitalization will be used to confirm whether services are being conducted in a timely manner with efficiency and to stop corruption.

"One of the biggest results that will come out of this will be the eradication of corruption," said President Muizzu.

President Muizzu also stated that corruption is being facilitated due to humans being given free reign to everything instead of automating things. He went on to say that that is how things are run at a government level and at the private sector as well.
