Man arrested for threatening to kill medical staff at IGMH

Police have arrested a man for threatening to kill medical staff while receiving treatment for injuries sustained in a fight in Male'.

The incident took place early on Sunday morning last week when Looth Ibrahim, 28, from Gaafu Dhaalu Vaadhoo, was admitted to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

A police spokesperson said Looth threatened and intimidated hospital staff treating him, and a knife was later found in his pocket.

He was arrested on Friday under a court order and has been remanded in custody for 15 days.

Police said the case remains under investigation.
