The residents of F. Feeali have urged the President to restart and complete the stalled development projects on the island without further delay.

At a meeting held on the island yesterday, nearly all speakers expressed concern that many projects initiated by the previous government have come to a halt. They appealed to the President to ensure the resumption and completion of these projects.

“I humbly ask you not to delay the reclamation project,” said one resident, speaking on behalf of the community.

Another resident requested the relocation of the landfill, highlighting it as a health hazard for those living nearby.

In response to the concerns, the President assured the residents that the stalled projects will resume. He reaffirmed his commitment to expanding the Feeali land reclamation project, stating that an additional 15 hectares would be dredged. He explained that the delay in the project was due to the unavailability of essential materials, such as boulder rocks required for the work.

“However, the issues have now been resolved, and the transportation of the boulder rocks has already begun. The materials will reach the island very soon, and project work will resume shortly,” he said.

The President reassured the community that not only would this project be restarted and completed, but other stalled projects will also continue. He emphasized that the government is committed to identifying and resolving the obstacles that have hindered progress on these developments.
