Education Ministry has signed an agreement with Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to construct a new four-storey building for Vaavu atoll Keyodhoo School.
The agreement was signed during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s current tour of the atoll, with state minister Dr Abdul Latheef Mohamed representing the ministry and MTCC managing director Abdulla Saudhee signing on behalf of the company.
Keyodhoo School has about 200 students, serving an island population of some 650. While students achieve strong O-level results, many leave the island to pursue A-level studies elsewhere.
The school hopes the new building will help ease space constraints and improve facilities for students.
