President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has called for political and economic steps against Israel in order to stop their inhumane crimes and make them obey international laws.
President Muizzu gave a speech at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit regarding the Israeli attack on Doha, Qatar on 9th September. He stated that Israel's attack on Qatar, a mediator of peace is Gaza, clearly shows that Israel does not want peace.
"The reason why Israel attacked Doha is to further destabilize the region, interfere with their work as a mediator and to directly attack peace," said the President.
President Muizzu described the attack as another step in their attempts at targeted and planned crimes, crimes such as occupying Palestinian lands, colonizing the West Bank, denying humanitarian access to Gaza and the targeting of doctors and journalists.
The President also pointed out that Israel is destroying Palestinian land and destroying the Palestinians as a whole all in the name of self-defense.

President Muizzu went on to say that Israel has shaken the very foundations of international law by attacking Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Qatar without hesitation.
"I want to make this very clear. The attack on Qatar is an attack on all of us. Qatar's independence and peace are no different from the countries that are represented here today," said President Muizzu, assuring that Maldives remains steadfast with Qatar.
As per the President, while the UN, ICJ and other international organizations have shown proof of Israel's crimes and massacres, it is imperative no blind eyes should be turned to Israel's crimes.
The President made clear that international organizations will only have meaning if all countries are treated equally under the law.
With that, President Muizzu continued that Israel's crimes cannot be stopped with just simple condemnation and called for strict steps to be taken against Israel.
The President also called for Israel's leaders to be brought to justice and hold them accountable for their crimes.
"Until Israel obeys international laws, we must come together to implement political, economic and diplomatic measures," said President Muizzu.
The President also called for the summit to be a historic moment for Arab Islamic countries to stand together against colonialism and inhumane crimes.
