An individual has been arrested in GA. Villingili due to sending fake payment slips to various businesses.

The individual in question is Mohamed Shareef, G. Rosy.

Police have said that the 37 year old individual was apprehended due to the accusation that he was using fake online payment slips to pay for products from various businesses.

As per the Police, MVR 1,500 worth of goods were taken from many shops.

The Police also stated that when taken to court for his remand hearing, he was given 8 days remand in custody. 

Payment through fake slips is a scam that is quite prominent in Male' as well. Some people have been arrested after having "bought" thousands of Rufiyaa worth of products. Police statistics have shown that the offence has repeat offenders as well.
