Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has said that, to date, 588 recipients have paid the security deposits for the flats.
FDC announced that it is accepting security deposits for the 4000 flats to be awarded under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme on September 7.
FDC Managing Director Hamdhan Shakeel said that over the past week, 588 recipients have paid the security deposit.
The flats, being constructed by two Indian companies, have two-bedroom and three-bedroom flats.
The two-bedroom flats are being given for MVR 7000, with an MVR 1000 maintenance fee and MVR 15,000 security deposit.
The three-bedroom flats are being issued for MVR 9,500, with an MVR 1,500 maintenance fee and MVR 25,000 security deposit.
The flat agreements are being signed in accordance with completion of the relevant units. As per FDC, agreements have now been signed with approximately 3000 recipients.
A message sent by FDC to those recipients who have completed agreement signing states that the security deposit can now be paid via the portal, which is required before keys to the apartments are handed over.
Thursday last week, FDC began the handover of keys to recipients who received flats from Amaan Udhares 14 tower. This is also being conducted via the portal.
Hamdhan said that as of now, only one recipient is scheduled to receive the apartment key.
Once the key handover is scheduled, recipients will receive a notification via SMS. Details regarding the process through which this is conducted can be found on the FDC portal, they said.
The 4000 flats, over 32 towers of 17 to 18 floors, are now nearing completion.
