Thilafushi accident: arrested driver released from custody

The driver arrested for allegedly fleeing the scene after an accident in K. Thilafushi has been released from police custody.

The 28-year-old Indian national was taken into custody on Thursday after reportedly striking a man who was working near an excavator. However, police say they have not found sufficient evidence to support the allegation that he left the scene without assisting the injured.

Due to the lack of evidence, authorities determined there was no basis to keep him in custody, and he was released last night.
