Addu landowners can now request to build housing units

Individuals who want to build housing units on their Addu plots can now request to do so.

As per an announcement from Addu City Council, many individuals are requesting to build housing units on their own plots under the government's housing policy. With that, the government has arranged for people to apply to build housing units, as per the announcement.

The city council announcement stated that interested parties from Addu are to submit their form online by 30th September, 10:00am.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced in February that those who want housing units built on their own plots will see it done as per the government's promise to build housing units in specified islands. This is for those who have the plot but not the facilities to develop a building.

The government has announced that under its policy, the work to build housing units for residents of HDh. Kulhudhuffushi and HDh. Nolhivaranfaru, who have the plot for it, will begin soon. The work to build the housing units in those islands has been handed over to HDC.
